James L. Cowen, age 90

Beloved husband of Muriel nee Cohen.

Devoted father of Judy (Michael) Thompson and Susan Cowen.

Proud grandfather of Leslie (James) Hellrung and Matthew (Kim) Thompson and great grandfather of Alex.

Dear brother of the late Elaine (Irving) Davidson.

James was born in Boston, proudly served in the Army Air Force during WWII and was a Harvard graduate.

He was Chief Actuary on the Railroad Retirement Board and ultimately received a presidential appointment to be the Chairman of the Board.

The family expresses their deep appreciation for the wonderful care provided by Whitehall of Deerfield, especially the staff of 2 South.

Service Monday 10 AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove (1 Block north of Lake Cook Rd.) Interment Shalom.
