Highland Park Tax Bills to Slightly Increase

Lower tax cap the reason for bills to be higher just slightly in 2015.

A tax cap of 1.5 percent set to the Consumer Price Index as of last December in Highland Park means homeowners there will see slightly lower increases on their tax bills than in years past.

The Highland Park News reports that Township High School District 113 has predicted that “the owner of a $300,000 house can expect to pay about $2,200 in property tax to the district in 2014, representing a $42 increase over what was paid in 2014.”

The tax claims of District 113 combined with those of North Shore District 112 will account for 67 percent of the bill, the News reports.
