HP Businesses Receive Facade Improvement Grants
Green Panda and MC Hair Salon will get a face lift this year.

A pair of Highland Park businesses were awarded Small Business Facade Improvement grants by the city this week.
Green Panda, 600 Elm Place and MC Hair Salon, 1934 First Streets were the ones approved by the City Council on Monday, according to a city news release.
“Supporting local business is a major part of the City’s Business Development Plan,” said Business Development Coordinator Carolyn Hersch. “The Plan identifies strategies to coordinate with property owners and retain businesses within the community by providing economic incentives and resources for continued economic prosperity and enhanced vitality of the City of Highland Park.”

According to the city - the Small Business Facade Improvement Program was established in 2001 to provide assistance to local businesses to improve the look and functionality of their property, facilitate business attraction and retention and enrich the character of our business districts. Since the program’s inception, the City has granted over $61,000 to assist businesses in Highland Park.
