HP Cops Nab 5 for DUI Over St. Patrick's Day Weekend
Alleged drunk drivers taken into custody during overnight hours in Highland Park.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL - Police in Highland Park made five driving under the influence arrests over St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
Early Saturday morning, police stopped Jasmine D. Keys, 26, Waukegan near State Route 41 and Old Elm Road and cited her for speeding 21-25 mph over the limit, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving with a suspended license.
Three more DUI arrests were made early Sunday morning, starting with the stop of Jose B. Melendez, 25, of Romeoville. At 12:39 a.m., he was arrested for driving under the influence, improper lane usage and disobeying a traffic control device after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Half Day Road and Kelly Lane.

Just over two hours later, Oscar Orozco-Garcia, 30, Evanston was arrested for driving under the influence, operating a vehicle with expired registration, driving with a suspended driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Central Avenue and Beverly Place.
Less than two hours after that, Israel Villa, 24, of North Chicago was arrested for driving under the influence, speeding 26-30 MPH over of the speed limit, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol after a stop in the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road.

The final arrest of the weekend came at 1:20 a.m. Monday, when Jason D. Burns, 41, Waukegan was arrested for driving under the influence, improper lane usage, driving without lights when required, driving with a suspended driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after a stop at Skokie Valley and Clavey roads.
