HP Woman Arrested Twice In A Week For Disorderly Conduct: Blotter

Over $1,000 in alcohol, health products stolen from Target; Driver faces drug and DUI felonies: Highland Park Blotter, Aug. 12 to Aug. 18

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 1700 block of Sunset Road reported around 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 12 that someone stole various items from inside an unlocked car during the previous night. No suspects were identified at the time of the report.

PACKAGE THEFT
A resident in the 600 block of Elm Place reported around 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 16 that someone had stolen two packages from a common area. No suspects were identified.

SHOPLIFTERS

  • Someone stole about $1,100 worth of alcohol and health products from the Target at 2099 Skokie Valley Road during daylight hours on Aug. 15.
  • Someone stole various cosmetic items of an unknown value from the CVS at 2000 Skokie Valley Road between about 6 and 7 p.m. on Aug. 18.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Officers dispatched to a burglar alarm at a car dealership in the 2400 block of Skokie Valley Road discovered a broken window. Nothing was missing from inside and no suspects were identified.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Amy Pierce, 52, of the 1200 block of Cambridge Court, Highland Park, was arrested at 1:45 a.m. on Aug. 12 in the 700 block of Central Avenue and at 2:19 p.m. on Aug. 16 in the 600 block of Elm Place. In the first instance, police got a complaint that she was repeatedly honking her car horn outside of a home. In the second, police were called to the 600 block of Elm Place for what turned out to be a false report. Pierce was charged with disorderly conduct in both cases.

Homar Ramirez, 33, of the 300 block of Ashland Avenue, Highwood, was arrested around 3:15 a.m. on Aug. 17 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. Ramirez was also issued citations for illegal transportation of alcohol, disobeying a traffic signal and a handicapped parking violation.

Jesus Espinoza-Sanchez, 30, of the first block of South Butrick Street, Waukegan, was arrested shortly after 4 a.m. on Aug. 18 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol without a license — both felonies, as well as driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 41 and Old Elm Road. Espinoza-Sanchez was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.

Isaiah Thompson, 23, of the 1500 block of Seymour Avenue, North Chicago, was arrested around 6:15 a.m. on Aug. 18 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley and Half Day roads. Thompson was also issued citations for improper lane usage, blocking the flow of traffic and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
