New Look for HPPD
The Highland Park Police Department uniform has begun wearing new uniforms issued to police officers and community service officers. CSOs are non-sworn police personnel who enforce city codes, animal control, motorist assistance, traffic control at crashes and special events, some clerical work and other duties. HPPD officers now wear navy blue shirts, while CSOs wear slate gray shirts. Both uniforms feature a shoulder patch with a new design. Police and community service officers can also be differentiated by their back patches.
