Stranger in BMW Approaches Kids Walking Home From Red Oak School
Highland Park police say a suspicious man asked two kids to get into his car to find someone named Andrew Tuesday afternoon.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL - A stranger approached two students of Red Oak Elementary School while they were walking home Tuesday afternoon and asked them to get into his car.
Police said a man described as Caucasian in his early 40s with brownish/blonde medium length hair and wearing black sunglasses and a short sleeve turquoise shirt approached the kids in a black BMW X3 near the intersection of Old Briar and Ridge Road around 3:40 p.m.
The driver asked the students if they could help him find “Andrew,” and showed them an ID card that contained a photo. The children did not recognize the person in the photo, but the driver asked them to get in the vehicle with him to help him find “Andrew.”

The students declined and continued to walk home while the driver left.
Police said the students were unable to provide the BMW’s full license plate number, but may have included the numbers “3” and “6.”
