Lake Villa Man Charged With Fleeing Police During DUI

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Jalen E. Griffin, 19, Imperial Beach, CA, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, speeding, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane use and possession of less than 2.5 grams of pot after a June 21 traffic stop in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road.

Griffin's court date is July 22.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Robert Stines, 41, of the 500 block of Sagebrush Court, Lake Villa, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, aggravated driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, driving without a valid driver’s license, disobeying a traffic signal, fleeing and eluding police, obstructing a police officer, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper lane use after a June 21 traffic stop in the 500 block of Skokie Valley Road.

RETAIL THEFT

Elva Diaz, 43, of the 300 block of Palmer Avenue, Highwood, was arrested and charged with retail theft after a June 24 incident in the 2000 Skokie Valley Road.

Diaz's court date is Aug. 10.
