Rosemary “Posie” Vole, 90 years 8 months of Deerfield passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017. Former wife and friend to the late Adolph “A.V.” Volpendesta, sister to the late Mary Bernardi, Angelo Ferrarini, and Elvira “Babe Biagi”, loving mother to Pam Cortesi and Paul Vole, and cherished grandmother to Kristina, Steven, Eric, Sarah, Andrea Cortesi, and Tony Vole. Posie was born July 15, 1926 to Anton Elvira Ferrarini and was raised in Wilmette, Illinois. After graduating from the Academy of the Holy Names in Tampa Florida, she operated her own hair dressing salon in Highland Park, Illinois. After her children were born, she continued doing hair out of her home and would even do the nuns hair at Immaculate Conception Parish. Posie was a very caring, loving, and outgoing person and mother. She ran a nursery school at I.C, coached cheerleading, was a Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother, managed a rock and roll band, and volunteered her services for several years at I.C. Functions by directing many of their shows for their “Mardi Gras”. Posie also worked for the state of Illinois, was a precinct committeeman, realtor, and most importantly, nurturing grandmother helping to raise her many grandchildren.
Rene Andre Van Hulle, Sr., 88, born September 24, 1928 in Kewanee, Illinois. Gone to his rest March 8, 2017. Survived by his loving family, his wife of sixty-four years Helene J., nee Onbekent, daughters Christine Bernardi (Giorgio), Laurie Van Hulle (Gary Heiss), Evelyn Fardoux (Christopher). Grandchildren Alison, Philip, Clark, Emily and Ethan. Preceded in death by his beloved son Rene, Jr., his sister Madeleine Robinson (Don), and brother Victor. Rene served in the United States Navy from 1949 thru 1952 aboard the USS Orion AS18. He was a member and Past Commander of the former American Legion Ardennes Post # 895 Chicago, and a current member of American Legion Post # 771 Gurnee, Illinois. For nearly fifty years he was a member of the Chicago Flat Janitor's Union, now SEIU Local 1 of Chicago. He cared for buildings both large and small. From Head Engineer of a four hundred apartment high rise in Chicago to a thirty-six apartment building in Evanston, and others. He was one of the best. Called the "Professor" or Van by many of the tenants. He was a member of the former Belgian-American Club of Chicago. A good CUBS fan, too. Missed is a word that takes on new meaning when applied to Rene, for he will be VERY missed, by family and friends.
