Nurses Assistant Charged with Neglect of Elderly Patient
Police: 45-year-old Chicago man improperly bandaged a patient at a Highland Park rehabilitation facility and didn't inform staff.

A certified nursing assistant at Warren Barr North Shore rehabilitation center in Highland Park has been accused of neglecting a 79-year-old resident of the facility.
Richard Oyinloye, 45, of Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, faces two counts of felony criminal neglect of a long-term care facility resident after the victim was found to have a deep leg laceration that was not properly bandaged or reported to nursing home staff, according to the Highland Park News.

Police responded to the facility around 11 a.m. on Nov. 3 to investigate the patient’s injury. They found the patient, who had since been transported to Highland Park Hospital, had suffered the laceration to the lower right leg during the night.
Evidence at the scene and a statement from Oyinloye connected him to the neglect, police claim.

Oyinloye, who was arrested Nov. 18, will appear in Lake County Circuit Court on Jan. 4.
