Born on March 18, 1920 Sylvia (Drake) Lindskog was the first of her parents, William and Edith’s, children to be born in Highland Park Hospital. One of five children, she is survived by her brother William Drake Jr of Fort Worth Texas. Since the 1940s she was an active member of the Washburn Congregational Church involved in Women’s Fellowship. She also became a deacon of the church. In 1961, she married her second husband Roger Lindskog (who pre-deceased her in 1999). She retired from Allis-Chalmers in 1982 and enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling, playing cribbage, and counting fireworks on holidays. She spent many happy moments celebrating holidays with her daughter Sheila and family. A highlight of her retirement was her Around The World trip with her daughter Pam. She is survived by her two daughters Sheila and Pam, six grandchildren, Suzanne (Mick), Lorianne (Rich), Scott, and Keith (Katrina), Renee (Mike), and Thea, eight great grandchildren Brendon, Rylan, Rebecca (James), Chris, Cherice, and Jonathan, and one great, great granddaughter Lilly. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2016. A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 6, 2016 from 12:00 pm (noon) until time of funeral service 1:00 pm at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd. Highland Park, IL.
