Officers Discover Residents With Active Arrest Warrants: Blotter
Pair of bidets pilfered by package thieves; Rolling Meadows man found drunkenly driving in oncoming traffic: Highland Park Police Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
Someone stole a 17-inch wheel worth about $350 from the underside of a 2019 Ford Raptor on the south end of a car dealership in the 1300 block of Park Avenue West at some point between 6 p.m. July 13 and 7 a.m. July 14.

SHOPLIFTING
A trio of shoplifters removed three bottles of alcohol of unspecified from their boxes and stole them Target store at 2099 Skokie Valley Road prior to 3:45 p.m. on July 15.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone keyed the rear of a Hyundai sedan in the 700 block of Pleasant Avenue at some point on the night of July 18 or early morning of July 19.

VANDALISM
- Someone spray painted a name in both red and black paint on opposite walls in the east side of the tunnel north of the Braeside train station near the bike path in the first block of St. Johns Avenue prior to 11:30 a.m. July 12.
- On the morning of July 14, damage was reported to the Highland Park Historical Society's sign near south entrance to the train station in the 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue. Someone etched out certain letters in the sign to suggest a homophobic and violent message.
PACKAGE THEFTS
- Someone stole a package delivered by the U.S. Postal Service to a porch in the 300 block of Park Avenue West on July 3. Police were told on July 13 that the box contained a pair of shoes worth about $370.
- Three packages were reported stolen from a home in the 700 block of St. Johns Avenue between April and early July. Thieves made off with two bidets and a wireless speaker with a combined value of about $380 were taken, police were told on July 16.
ARRESTS
A 24-year-old Rolling Meadows woman was arrested around 11:45 p.m. on July 14 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop on a car driving east in the westbound lane in the 1200 block of Half Day Road. In March 2021, she pleaded guilty to reckless driving in exchange for one year of supervision, which was completed.
Amy Pierce, 51, of the 1200 block of Cambridge Court, Highland Park was arrested around 11 p.m. July 17 on an active warrant after police got a call of someone ringing doorbells in the area around her home. Pierce has five pending criminal cases in Lake County courtrooms, with charges ranging from filing false reports, to threatening a Highland Park police officer to fleeing police and resisting arrest. Court records indicate a warrant for failure to appear in court was issued the day of her arrest.
Marcial Recinos-Vasquez, 30, of the 900 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. on July 17 on a warrant for failure to appear in court after officers were called to the 2300 block of Egandale Road for a report of a bonfire on the beach. Police reported he picked up new charges of obstructing identification and obstructing a peace officer.
Damian Toledo Jr., 19, of the 600 block of Sheridan Road, Highwood, and Shawn Sawko, 19, of the 1400 block of Glen Drive, North Chicago, were both arrested around 10 p.m. July 18 and charged with robbery and aggravated battery following an incident in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road.
