More than 50 members of "HPHS Break the Ice" helped raise money for the Special Olympics at Clark Street Beach in Evanston.

EVANSTON, IL - More than 50 members of the Highland Park High School Rotary Interact Club took a ’Polar Plunge’ last month to help raise funds for the Special Olympics.

The team “HPHS Breaks the Ice” had more members than any other that took part in the Feb. 20 event at Clark Street Beach in Evanston.

A rare 60-degree day in February with a water temperature of 32 degrees made the plunge a little less icy than it could have been.
