Speeders in HP Get DUIs: Cops
A glass door was reported shattered at a Central Avenue business, but nothing was stolen.

NO VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE
Dario H. Vazquez, 54, Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid driver’s license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after police responded to a traffic incident near the intersection of Sheridan Road and South Deere Park Drive at 6:29 a.m. on Feb. 1.

DRIVING WITH SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE
Jacques M. Stewart, 38, Chicago was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and texting while driving after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Daneth Court at 7:05 p.m. on Feb. 1.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Alexander Capio, of the 1600 block of Second Street was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, obstructing identification, and failure to yield for an authorized emergency vehicle after police conducted a traffic stop near the 1700 block of Second Street at 9:09 p.m. on Feb. 1.

Melvin Hopskin, 28, Waukesha was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and speeding 35+ MPH over the speed limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Park Avenue West at 3:49 a.m. on Feb. 2.

Denise G. Vargas, 26, Chicago was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and making an improper left turn after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road at 4:59 a.m. on Feb. 2.

Owens, 25, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, speeding 35+ MPH over the speed limit, and failure to signal when required after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Half Day Road at 1:59 a.m. on Feb. 4.

Megan Laura Rosaire Cook, 22, Beach Park was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, and speeding 26-34 MPH over the speed limit after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Half Day Road at 3:12 a.m. on Feb. 6.

Luis F. Ramos, 27, Highwood was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and a local traffic violation after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Second Street and Half Laurel Avenue at 8:14 p.m.

Robert D. Siegel, 36, Chicago was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and operating an uninsured vehicle after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Central Avenue and Beverly Place at 1:07 a.m. on Feb. 7.

Gabriel Perez, 50, Milwaukee was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, operating an uninsured vehicle, speeding 26-34 MPH over the speed limit and endangering the health of a child after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Half Day Road at 11:41 p.m. on Feb. 7.
THEFT
On Feb. 1, it was reported that an unknown subject(s) stole a flag from a residence in the 3600 block of Leonard Wood Avenue East.
BURGLARY ATTEMPT
On Feb. 3, it was reported that an unknown male suspect gained entry to a business in the 700 block of Central Avenue by shattering a glass door. No materials were reported stolen.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Feb. 4, it was reported that an unknown suspect(s) damaged the headlight of a vehicle between Jan. 31 and Feb. 2.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Feb. 4, it was reported that a male suspect caused damage to a vehicle by throwing a brick through the driver’s seat window outside of a business in the 1900 block of First Street.
