Squealing Tires Lead to DWS Charge: Cops

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE

Hugo Berstain-Sanchez, 23, of the 1600 block of Oakwood Avenue was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and squealing tires after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of First Street and Laurel Avenue at 11:33 p.m. on Dec. 14.

DRIVING WITH A REVOKED LICENSE

Jose Luis Bautista, 24, Glenview was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked, speeding, obstruction of justice and possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped by police near the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road at 11:21 p.m. on Dec. 15.

DRIVING WITH A REVOKED LICENSE

Nicole M. Rivera, 30, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked, improper lane usage, hit and run, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped by police near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Clavey Road at 3:38 a.m. on Dec. 16.

POSSESSION OF A FRAUDULENT DRIVER’S LICENSE

Chermain L. Adams, 25, Chicago was arrested and charged with possession of a fraudulent driver’s license, obstructing identification and use of a debit card with intent to defraud after police responded to a complaint near the 1600 block of Deerfield Road at 10:03 p.m. on Dec. 17.

RETAIL THEFT

Vilizar Vasilev Popov, 38, Mount Prospect was arrested and charged with retail theft after police responded to a complaint near the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 20.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE / SUSPENDED

Francisco Armando Gutierrez, 42, of the 2000 block of Green Bay Road was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving while license suspended after police located the subject near the intersection of Vine Avenue and Green Bay Road at 1:57 a.m. on Dec. 21.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

Sometime between 4:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 16, unknown person(s) smashed the front windows of a Honda Odyssey and Mercedes-Benz in the parking lot in the 3000 block of Trail Way and removed a purse, credit cards, cash and drivers licenses.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

Sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 17, unknown person(s) entered a vehicle in the parking lot in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road and removed credit cards.
