St. Johns Ave. Speeder Had Controlled Substance: Cops

Highland Park police make several arrests for excessive speeding.

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DRIVING WITH SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Samantha A. Raasch Bowsher, 24, North Chicago was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and speeding after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue West at 1:56 a.m. on Feb. 22.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Elena J. Rojas, 24, of the 1800 block of Sunnyside Avenue was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis greater than 2.5 grams and less than 10 grams, and speeding 35 MPH over the speed limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of St. Johns Ave. at 12:27 p.m. on Feb. 22.

DRIVING WITH SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Jesus Gutierrez-Davila, 25, Chicago was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license after police conducted a traffic stop near the Edens Expressway and County Line Road intersection at 9:59 p.m. on Feb. 23.

DRIVING WITH SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Karim Emerson Wilson, 39, Romulus, Mich. was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and speeding 26 to 34 MPH over the speed limit after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Half Day Road at 12:15 a.m. on Feb. 24.

SPEEDING 35+ MPH OVER THE SPEED LIMIT

Anthony C. Larosa, 26, Chicago was arrested and charged with speeding 35+ mph over the speed limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road at 1:10 a.m. on Feb. 25.

DRIVING WITH SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Modriving with a suspended registration for no insurance after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Parkside Drive at 8:24 p.m. on Feb. 25.

SPEEDING 35+ MPH OVER THE SPEED LIMIT

Mohamad S. Khasawneh, 65, Chicago was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and Juan L. Bernabe-Martinez, 27, Waukegan was arrested and charged with speeding 35+ mph over the speed limit after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue West at 12:41 a.m. on Feb. 28.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO PROPERTY

Jeremy J. Webb, 28, Chicago was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to property and theft under $500 after police responded to an alarm in the 400 block of Laurel Avenue at 7:31 p.m. on Feb. 28.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

On Feb, 22, it was reported that an unknown suspect(s) vandalized a pedestrian bridge between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Feb. 19 in the 1400 block of Skokie Valley Road.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On Feb. 22,, it was reported that an unknown subject(s) damaged a mailbox to a residence between 1 p.m. on Feb. 20 and 1 p.m. on Feb 21 in the 2600 block of Point Lane.

THEFT

On Feb. 22, it was reported that a male subject departed a business without paying for a service in the 0-100 block of Skokie Valley Road.

On Feb. 23, it was reported that a male subject intentionally sold jewelry on behalf of the alleged victim and never returned the proceeds from the sales. It was reported that the incidents took place between July 1, 2015 and February 11, 2016.

On Feb. 23, it was reported that an unknown male suspect stole the alleged victim’s cell phone while in a business in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road.

On Feb. 26, it was reported that two unknown female suspects stole several items from a business in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road.
