Students Hit By Car Near Indian Trail School

A Highland Park man is charged with failing to yield to pedestrians after Tuesday morning's incident that injured three.

A 7-year-old girl and two 14-year-old boys were struck by a car Tuesday morning as they were walking on a sidewalk near Indian Trail School in Highland Park.

Police charged the driver - David Levinson, 54, of the 600 block of Vine Avenue in Highland Park - with failure to yield to pedestrians, according to the Highland Park News.

The girl was an Indian Trail student and was walking with her two older brothers.

The girl was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries and one of her siblings had minor injuries. Their updated condition as of Friday has not been released by the school due to privacy reasons.

Levinson told police the sun was directly in his eyes as he turned east.
