Three DUI Arrests After Memorial Day Weekend Crashes: Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

WALLET THEFT
An unidentified thief stole a wallet from a person at an unspecified location in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road at some point prior to 2:18 p.m. on May 25, police were told.

ARRESTS

Andrew Adenayi, 63, of the 13000 block of West Yorkshire Lane, Beach Park, was arrested around 5:15 a.m. on May 20 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs following a traffic stop in the area of Skokie Valley and Half Day roads. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.

Coleen Doyle, 49, of the 800 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park, was arrested around 4 p.m. on May 25 and charged with felony drunk driving after officers arrived at the scene of a traffic crash in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. Doyle was charged with three counts of felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol — third or subsequent offense, with a suspended or revoked license and with no insurance — as well as one count of misdemeanor DUI. She was also charged with driving with a revoked license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Amadeus Kozera, 23, of the 800 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park, was arrested around 1:45 a.m. on May 27 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a suspended or revoked license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle following an investigation into a hit-and-run traffic crash reported in the 2600 block of Waukegan Avenue. Officers identified him based on his license plate number before placing him under arrest.

Myron Harvey, 54, of the 1100 block of Shermer Road, Glenview, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on May 27 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater after police arrived on the scene of a one-car crash in the area of Skokie Valley and Clavey roads. He was also issued citations for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
