Traffic Stop for Speeding Leads to DUI Charges: Cops

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DUI

John Edward Swan III, 26, of the 1800 block of North Pinecrest Lane, Lindenhurst, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and speeding after a May 25 traffic stop. Police pulled over Sanchez at about 4:10 a.m. near Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue for driving 20 mph over the limit. 

Swan's court date is July 8.

DUI

Martimiano Castillo Maldonado, 26, of the 0-100 block of North Jackson Street, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and driving without insurance after a May 27 traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley and Deerfield roads. 

Maldonado was released on bail, and his court date is July 17, 2016 in Waukegan.

DUI

Shantella N. Mcbryde, 28, of the 0-100 block of Prairie View Court, North Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, speeding and driving without license plates after a May 28 traffic stop. Police initially clocked Mcbryde going 26 to 34 mph over the speed limit at about 4:51 a.m. near Skokie Valley and Half Day roads.

Mcbryde's court date is July 1.
