Drunken, Unlicensed Indiana Man Crashes In Highland Park: Blotter
Maywood man faces criminal damage charge; grand theft auto; graffiti discovered; vacuum shoplifting: Highland Park Police Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
THEFT
Someone stole multiple landscaping items from a trailer in the 1400 block of Old Skokie Road sometime between the morning of May 10 and May 11. Police had not identified any suspects at the time of the report.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Police were told shortly after noon on May 8 that there was graffiti on a driveway in the 200 block of St. John's Avenue. Someone spray painted messages in the bus terminal area of Ravinia Festival grounds about Israel and the consumer-based economy.

CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 1100 block of Wade Street reported around 3 p.m. on May 11 that someone had gotten into their unlocked vehicle during the previous night. Nothing was reported stolen and no suspects were identified at the time of the report.
CAR BURGLARY
Someone got into a vehicle in the 100 block of Central Avenue and stole a compact disc from inside during the early morning hours of May 11, police were told that evening.

STOLEN CAR
Someone stole an SUV from the 2200 block of Sheridan Road that had been left unlocked in the garage of a home during the night of May 10 or morning of May 11. As of May 20, it had not been recovered.
SHOPLIFTING
- A representative of the Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road, reported at 1 p.m. on May 6 that an unidentified man had stolen a vacuum and various pieces of clothing worth a combined $1,300 around 5:30 p.m. on May 5.
- Shortly after 1 p.m. on May 17, Target employee reported two unidentified men or boys stole a backpack and electronics worth a combined $300 on the evening of March 12.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Gerson Rosales-Martinez, 27, of the 4600 block of Glastonbury Court, Indianapolis, was arrested around 7:30 a.m. on May 16 and charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and driving without a valid license after officers arrived at the scene of a two-car traffic crash at the intersection of Skokie Valley and Clavey roads. He was also issued citations for illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol by a driver, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. There were no injuries and only minor damage reported from the crash.
Donald Harrel, 42, of the 1900 block of South 10th Avenue, Maywood, was around 9:45 a.m. on May 16 and charged with criminal damage after officers were called to the 600 block of Blackstone Place for a report of a dispute. He is accused of causing an unspecified amount of damage to a tire.
