Cops Ask Residents To Check Home Security Video After Thursday Burglary
Hinsdale police seek leads in burglary investigation. Residents asked to check home security video for images of possible burglary suspect.

Hinsdale police are enacting the voluntary “Block Watch” program by asking residents to check outdoor home security cameras for any images that may lead to the arrest of a home burglar.
Around 11:20a.m. Thursday, police investigated a residential burglary in the 400 block of South Madison Street.
Police said the burglary happened between 10 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. when the home was unoccupied. The burglar entered the home through an unlocked front door and stole several pieces of jewelry.

Residents in the area who may have any video surveillance footage from a private residential video surveillance system in the area are encouraged to contact the Investigations Division at 630-789-7070. Home surveillance videos have aided investigators in previous investigations and increase the likelihood of identifying and apprehending burglary suspects.
Earlier this year, the Hinsdale Police Department introduced “Block Watch,” a voluntary program that asks residents who have outdoor surveillance cameras to register their cameras with the Police Department.
