Hinsdale Central Parents Say They Didn't Receive Initial Notice of Shelter-In-Place

The district says it is looking into a swift resolution for the communication problem.

Some parents of Hinsdale Central High School students say they didn’t receive communication from the school or from Hinsdale Township High School District 86 until after Friday’s shelter-in-place directive was lifted.

Karen Warner, District 86 director of communications, said an email was sent at 12:30 p.m. from superintendent Bruce Law, informing parents of the shelter-in-place. She said another email from Law was sent at 1:34 p.m., stating the shelter-in-place was lifted, and an additional statement was sent from the district at 2:54 p.m.

  • What communication did you receive about Friday’s shelter-in-place? Tell us in the comments.

Warner said the district is aware that some parents did not receive the initial 12:30 p.m. email.
