HINSDALE, IL — The trial of Jeffrey Keller, a 54-year-old former tech CEO, will move forward this week as jury selection gets underway. Keller, a former Hinsdale businessman, has been charged with the 2014 murder of Nate Fox.

Fox, a former pro basketball player and Plainfield Central High School graduate, was allegedly gunned down by Keller on Dec. 22, 2014.

Final pretrial rulings have been made, and a jury selection will begin soon, the Chicago Tribune reported. Opening statements and the presentation of evidence will most likely start Wednesday.

Keller allegedly shot Fox outside his Bloomingdale home because he believed Fox was a romantic rival. Prosecutors have alleged that Keller believed Fox was having an affair with a woman that Keller was "emotionally involved with."

The woman in question worked with Fox, but was not involved with him, police said. Prosecutors allege it was a “made-up love triangle” that drove Keller to stalk and ultimately shoot Fox to death.

DuPage County prosecutors will argue that Keller shot Fox in a jealousy motivated ambush, according to the Chicago Tribune. Keller's attorneys argue that Keller acted in self-defense.

Keller has been held without bond since January 2015, according to DuPage County Sheriff's Office.
