“Our AllStar program allows young musicians to get a taste of what a professional music career is like,” said Dzana Homan, CEO of School of Rock. “Their performances are awe-inspiring showcases of talent and skill; the 2014 AllStars truly are the best in class out of 17,000 School of Rock students.”
For the third consecutive year, School of Rock is partnering with the Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHSF)– an international, music-centric cancer charity dedicated to saving lives, one concert at a time – in support of their mission to fight cancer. At Lollapalooza and Gathering of the Vibes, AllStars will be collecting saliva samples from festival-goers, which are added to international bone marrow databases in the hopes of making a match and saving a life. So far, these efforts have resulted in over 500 submissions, and eight matches from the festivals.
