Youths Charged In Westmont Taco Grill Fight

Youths caused more than $5,000 in damage during an altercation, police said.

WESTMONT, IL – Six juveniles have been charged in the fight that occurred last fall at Taco Grill in Westmont, police said Thursday.

All six were charged with mob action, while one of them faced the additional charge of aggravated battery, police said.

"Since all charges are associated with juveniles, no identifying information will be released to include names, towns of residence, or schools attending," Sgt. Rolando Padilla said in an email to Patch.

Shortly after midnight Oct. 27, youths who appeared to be high school age caused an estimated $5,000 in damage to Taco Grill. At least one person was injured, police said.

Later, a GoFundMe page was set up to help Taco Grill make up for its lost income after having to shut down for a time after the fight.

Shortly after the incident, Patch obtained a 1½-minute video of it. Patch reported on the dialogue of the youths before the altercation.
