Homer Glen Gas Station Will Likely Not Move Forward

The property owners where a proposed gas station in Homer Glen was approved said the developer would not move forward with his plans.

HOMER GLEN, IL — At a recent Homer Glen village board meeting, the property owners where a proposed gas station in Homer Glen was approved said the developer would not move forward with his plans. During the public comment portion of the meeting, the property owners David and Catherine Boo, are in favor of the plan, but said the developer won't build on the property without the approval of diesel bays or video gaming.

"It would be an attractive business as a commercial gateway," David Boo said during the meeting. The property owner also noted there is an undeveloped property across the street, but it is in Lockport.

"The possibility of it going across the street in Lockport or elsewhere would be very disappointing," David said.

According to the village, they have not received official notice from the developer on his plans. The contract will expire on Dec. 15, unless the board reconsiders the diesel islands and video gaming.

Previously, the village board approved the Gas N Wash, which would include a gas station, mini mart and car wash, but not video gaming or diesel islands. The new gas station would be located at the northeast corner of 159th Street and South Gougar Road.
