Park District Creates 'Field Of Hope' For Essential Workers
The Field of Hope opened April 24 and is lit every evening from 8 to 10 p.m. at Hassert Park, 19623 Renwick Road in Crest Hill.
LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township Park District has created an outdoor light display to thank all healthcare and essential workers. The Field of Hope opened April 24 and is lit every evening from 8 to 10 p.m. at Hassert Park, 19623 Renwick Road in Crest Hill.
The lights for the display are on borrow from pro Decorating, a local business which decorates homes for Christmas, Public Relations and Marketing supervisor Pamela Hutton told Patch.
The park district came up with the idea for the Field of Hope after several of its 75th anniversary events were canceled due to the coronavirus.

"There are several signs directing people around the displays, but the most significant are the ones giving thanks to healthcare workers, first responders and essential workers who are keeping businesses and families functioning during this time in need," Hutton told Patch.
Anyone can drive through Hassert Park and view the light display.
"Ironically, the community has thanked the Lockport Township Park District for creating such a display; we just wanted to let people to know we care about them and our community," Hutton said.
