Two Lockport Men Charged In U.S. Capitol Breach

Anthony Carollo, 23, and Cody Vollan, 31, are facing charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol breach.

LOCKPORT, IL — Two Lockport men were charged Wednesday related to the U.S. Capitol breach on Jan. 6, 2021, according to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court.

Anthony Carollo, 23, and Cody Vollan, 31, both of Lockport, are charged with entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly conduct in a Capitol building; and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.

Jeremiah Carollo, 41, of Glen Carbon, also faces the same charges. The Carollos are brothers, and Vollan is their cousin, according to the attorney's office.

The complaint says geolocation data was obtained with a search warrant served on Google, and mobile devices associated with the Carollos and Vollan's Google accounts were located in and/or around the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Images of people "who appear fully consistent" with the three men's appearances were also recovered from video footage recorded within and around the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to the complaint.

In late October and early November, during interviews with law enforcement, Anthony Carollo, Jerimiah Carollo and Vollan admitted they were inside the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021; and identified themselves in images from that day.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 725 individuals have been arrested in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including over 225 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement. The investigation remains ongoing.
