HOMER GLEN-LOCKPORT, IL — Veterans Day this year is Sun, Nov. 11. Since the day falls on a Sunday this year, many places are still open and libraries and park districts will not have a day of observance. The official day of observance for Veterans Day this year is Monday, Nov. 12 since the holiday falls on a weekend.

• Banks: Most are closed on Monday, Nov. 12. Call your bank if you're thinking of stopping by.
• Post Offices: Closed, Monday, Nov. 12.
• Lockport Township High School: No school Monday, Nov. 12.
• Federal Offices: Closed, Monday, Nov. 12.
• Lockport Library: Closed Sunday, Nov. 11.
• Homer Township Library: Closed Sunday, Nov. 11.
• Village of Homer Glen offices are closed on Monday, Nov. 12.
• Trash Pickup: Services won't be delayed.
• Most restaurants will be open, and some will offer discounts to active military personnel and veterans.
