8 Extra Classrooms, Science Lab Planned for Parker Junior High
The Flossmoor School will gain a little extra space, with construction beginning this summer.
Flossmoor's Parker Junior High will add eight classrooms and a science lab.
The school board recently approved the $7.5-million project, which will add 16,000 square feet to the school at 2810 School St. The expansion will also include a 2,500-square-foot storage facility, additional parking and a one-way, semicircular drive for buses, Sun-Times Media reports.
Police Chief Michael Pulec said the driveway will expedite the process to empty buses and help with traffic along Flossmoor Road.

The current playground, outdoor courts and fields will be removed—to be replaced with open green space intended for use as all-purpose fields.
Construction is scheduled to start this summer and should take about a year to complete.
