ALDI To Hold Hiring Fair At Glenwood Store

GLENWOOD, IL - ALDI will host a day-long hiring event to fill positions at four of its stores in Chicago's southeast suburbs. Applicants can come in to the Glenwood store at 18901 S. Halsted St. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 11 to apply for full-time and part-time store associate positions.

ALDI, a grocery store chain that has more than 1,750 stores in 35 states and one which was named a National 2017 Top Workplace by Workplace Dynamics, will offer job hopefuls an opportunity to ask questions and apply for the positions at the hiring fair.

At ALDI, wages start at $13.10 an hour, which store officials say is higher than average wages in the retail industry and well above the Illinois minimum wage of $8.25 an hour.

Employees who average more than 25 hours per week are eligible for full health insurance and dental coverage. All employees at ALDI are invited to participate in the 401(k) program.

Friday's hiring fair will be to fill vacancies at stores in Glenwood, Chicago Heights, Hazel Crest and Calumet City.

Prospective employees must be at least 18 years old to apply and have a high school diploma or GED. They must pass both a drug screening and background check and be available to work between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. any day of the week. Retail experience is preferred. Ability to lift 45 pounds is a must.
