• Homewood extends disaster declaration from tornado through Sept. 18 (hfchronicle.com) — Homewood's Village Board has extended the local disaster declaration from the Aug. 11 tornado through Sept. 18, keeping recovery resources flowing to affected residents and businesses. Public Works crews have cleared every street once and are now tackling second and third debris passes, while officials emphasize patience, long-term yard recovery, and strong support from Cook County emergency connections.
