Mitchell appointed to countywide judicial vacancy (blogspot.com) — A longtime Homewood-based attorney has been appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to fill a countywide judicial vacancy starting October 2, 2026. Gregory T. Mitchell, a Marine Corps veteran and federal criminal defense and employment lawyer since 1987, will serve through December 4, 2028, bringing decades of legal and public service experience to the bench.
