Athlete of the Week: Schloen Has H-F Hoping to Make Even Bigger Splash
Senior water polo goalie closes out regular season and looks to help Vikings make a return trip to state.

After finishing fourth in state last season, the Homewood-Flossmoor girls water polo team has had its sights set on even bigger things.
The Vikings appear to be on the right path to reaching their goal.
After concluding the regular season with a 26-3 record, H-F will enter the Lincoln-Way North Sectional this week as the top seed.

One of the reasons the Vikings have been so successful this season is goalie Sophie Schloen, who now has the top save percentage in the history of the school.
She helped the Vikings close out their final home game of the season last Wednesday with an 8-4 win over Sandburg.

In recognition of her efforts, Schloen is Patch’s Athlete of the Week.
"It has been a great experience playing water polo at H-F," Schloen said. "We hope to make it back again to state this year."
Schloen and the Vikings will take on the Lincoln-Way West/Bradley-Bourbonnais winner on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Lincoln-Way North.
