“I am bringing this program to the Homewood-Flossmoor community because I believe this area has several youth with athletic talent that needs continued nurturing, development and refining,” said Wright. “However, I want to emphasis that this program isn’t just for students who play sports,” he continued. “This program is for any young boy or girl who is interested in developing his or her self esteem, overall fitness and just looking for an environment to get in shape with kids their own age.”

During the youth training program students will workout with agility ladders, hurdles, speed rope, speed boxes and a series of abdominal exercises. The workouts mirror the same fitness routine utilized by professional athletes, regardless if they play basketball, football, baseball, or any other sport. As a result of the workout, students will increase their confidence while also becoming stronger, faster and quicker.

“When my son trained with The Wright Touch Athletics, I was really impressed by not only by the physical intensity the program offered, but by the compassion Coach Wright displayed for his craft and the gift that he was willing to share with the kids that he came in contact with,” said Corliss Brown, a Homewood area parent. “Mr. Wright treated each participant with respect and he had a no tolerance for ‘I can’t!’”

All students ages six to 18 in the Homewood and Flossmoor community are eligible to participate, but spots are limited and open on a first come first serve basis.
