DCFS Removes Siblings from Home Where Homewood Baby Died

The Department of Children and Family Services is investigating allegations of neglect in the death of a 4-month-old baby in a Homewood apartment building. Police found Jacinta Hughes in the 18200 block of Hart Drive on Thursday morning. She was pronounced dead at the scene at at 9:19 a.m. The Cook County Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy Friday but the results were inconclusive. Two siblings in the home have been taken from the parents and placed in protective DCFS custody.
