H-F Duo Dynamic in Vikings' Victory over Lockport
Tim Williams and Sean Jones connect early and often in Homewood-Flossmoor's 48-7 rout of Lockport in the second round of the state football playoffs.
The tandem of quarterback Tim Williams and wideout Sean Jones picked the perfect game to have a connection— the second round of the Class 8A state playoffs.
Williams found Jones all game long as , advancing the Vikings to next weekend’s quarterfinals. H-F (8-3) will play at Naperville Central, which routed Belleville East 43-3.
Williams and Jones hooked up for two long touchdowns, including a 45-yarder for the first score of the game. In all, Williams found Jones for seven catches good for 247 yards, and every catch went for at least 17 yards.

That the two looked so comfortable on the field against the Porters was all the more impressive since it was in front of a big crowd in a win-or-go-home situation.
It was as if they had been playing catch with each other for years.

In fact, they have, as Williams and Jones have been good friends since childhood.
“We have been good friends since we were 6 years old,” Williams said. “We have always played catch with each other and I feel we have great chemistry.”
Vikings head coach Craig Buzea said a lot of that great chemistry came as a result of an injury to another wide receiver last season.
“When Gerald (Butler) got hurt last season, Sean stepped up and I think it has made a difference this year,” Buzea said.
Williams and Jones have the utmost trust in each other’s abilities, and with success comes even greater confidence.
“I tell him all the time to just throw me the ball and I will come up with it,” Jones said.
