Flossmoor Fest 2017: What You Need To Know

Food, entertainment and street closures ahead of the one-day Flossmoor Fest on September 9.

FLOSSMOOR, IL -- Flossmoor Fest, the late-summer community party held annually in Flossmoor, is planned for Saturday, Sept. 9 this year and already has many details in place for those looking to plan ahead. Entertainment, local food options and a movie in the park are sure to provide fun for everyone. Take a look at what's on tap.

Entertainment:

Early Afternoon: Kids activities

4-5 p.m.: The McDowell Bros. (a blues group of students from Homewood-Flossmoor High School)

6:30-8 p.m.: The Walk-Ins (a local wedding band)

8:30-10 p.m.: Second Hand Soul Band (a Motown and Soul band)

A movie in the park, which will be "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," will play at dusk.

A video game truck will be present from 3-8 p.m.

Food:

Restaurants from Flossmoor will sell alcohol and food at the event. Here's a list of some of the confirmed participating restaurants.

  • Bistro on Sterling
  • Flossmoor Station
  • Siam Thai
  • Wiley's Grill

Other restaurants may also participate. A cocktail tent will be on the south end of the festivities.

Street Closure:

Sterling Street i downtown Flossmoor in front of the Flossmoor Station Brewery will be closed to traffic during the event.
