Gunfire Exchange On 175th Street Rolls Through Homewood

HOMEWOOD, IL — People in two moving cars on 175th Street exchanged gunfire Sunday night in Hazel Crest and Homewood, resulting in damage at three homes and one uninvolved car. No one was injured, however.

Police in Homewood said the shots began while the two cars were headed eastbound on 175th near Butternut Road in Hazel Crest. The cars then entered Homewood, where much of the property damage occurred.

Both cars fled the area and could not be found, according to police.
