• Dixie Highway Viaduct Closed For Construction, Finally (patch.com) — Homewood drivers face a long-term closure of the Dixie Highway viaduct as IDOT restarts a major construction project expected to last into early 2027. The work targets chronic flooding beneath the viaduct and will add new pavement and updated traffic patterns between Spruce Road and Park Avenue, so residents are urged to plan detours in advance.
