Sports Photo Gallery: Homewood 8-Under Stars Flash Diamond Sparkle

The power of teamwork was on display at Oak Forest's Battle of the Burbs baseball tournament.

The Homewood All-Stars defeated the Oak Forest Blue Demons 7-0 in a recent 8-under matchup. And Homewood did it with teamwork.

Frederick Ty Chaney scored the first two runs. Colin Duntz was the winning pitcher. Duntz was selected as Homewood's Player of the Game.

“He pitched very well and had a few great defensive plays as well," Homewood coach Fred Chaney said. "(It) was a full team effort. We give 100 percent. It is not about one player."

Oak Forest coach Scott Pickands said, “All the kids played well. It's never about winning or losing (at this level). They play hard. The pitchers did exactly what they are to do. They threw strikes. We had solid defense behind our pitchers. It was a good game.”
