Watch: H-F Girls Volleyball Stymied by Stagg
Homewood-Flossmoor wasn't able to get anything going and dropped a straight-sets girls volleyball decision to Stagg.
Homewood-Flossmoor welcomed Stagg for a Southwest Suburban Conference girls volleyball crossover match on Thursday. And, as it turned out, H-F was no match for Stagg's size as the Vikings fell in straight sets (25-16, 25-16).
Game 1 started out slowly for the Vikings as they found themselves behind 7-2. A rally brought them within 10-8, but Stagg took charge after a H-F timeout to extend the lead to 23-13 and finally wrapped up the first game 25-16.
The Vikings jumped out to a 4-1 lead in Game 2 but quickly found themselves down 12-7 before calling a timeout. Despite coming out with energy, the size of Stagg's Lexi Mantas (6 blocks) and others enabled the Chargers to dominate at the net in another 25-16 victory.
