KANE COUNTY, IL — One person is dead after a vehicle collided with a tree near Huntley.
The Huntley Fire Protection District responded to the crash at the intersection of Brier Hill and Dietrich roads in rural Kane County around 7:50 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release.
When crews arrived, the vehicle was “heavily involved in flames,” fire officials said. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered one occupant dead inside the vehicle.

The person has not been publicly identified. Fire officials said the age and gender are not known at this time.
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
