Belly Rhythms; Fitness in Motion Returns to Relay for Life of Huntley

Belly dance at Relay for Life of Huntley

We are happy to announce that Belly Rhythms:  Fitness in Motion will be returning to our community Relay for Life.  Last year, everyone had so much fun watching the dance and many jumped in and did a little belly dancing themselves.  We hope the community will come out and join us again on June 14, 2013.

When asked about her participation in the event, Natalie Block had this to say.

"I am so excited to be bringing Belly Rhythms; Fitness in Motion back to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Huntley. Belly Rhythms offers fitness classes in Belly Dance, Hula, Bollywood, and Zumba© and is based foremost on the philosophy that fitness can be fun and rewarding. It’s about building a community of support, to motivate and empower you on your journey to a healthier life. Regardless of shape, size, age, or fitness level, we encourage everyone to be involved. Our goal is to develop an inner and outer strength allowing self-confidence to grow within you. ..And that is why we love to be a part of the Relay For Life. It’s about creating a movement of change and encouraging us to stand strong. It’s realizing that one person’s actions can affect those of many others causing a ripple effect of higher impact. I lost my mom at the age of 17 to emphysema. Much of my teen years were spent sitting in hospitals and connecting with the loved ones of those fighting cancer, sharing our stories and supporting each other. I relay because I don’t want any more daughters to grow up without their mothers. I relay to celebrate those who beat it and to honor those who lost the fight. All those who participate in the Belly Rhythms demonstration at the Relay are volunteers and each has been touched in some way by someone who has battled cancer. Together we can help raise awareness and support. Belly Rhythms will be performing at 7:00pm on June 14th. Stop by and see us. You can even do a little shimmy with us!"
