Lake County cellist Drew Wiegman, known for his improvisational performances and more than 889,000 TikTok followers, will accompany Grammy Award-winning singer LeAnn Rimes onstage at the Genesee Theatre on Friday, November 6, during her “30 Years of Blue” tour stop in Waukegan.

Rimes has sold more than 48 million records worldwide and is known for hits including “Blue,” “How Do I Live,” “I Need You” and “Can’t Fight the Moonlight.” She rose to fame in 1996 at just 13 years old with her breakthrough album “Blue,” launching a career spanning three decades of country and pop music.

For Wiegman, the invitation brings a personal story full circle. In 2024, he released an original song titled “I’ll patiently wait for country music to give this cello a chance.” Two years later, he’ll share the stage with one of country music’s best-known voices just miles from where he grew up.

Self-taught and playing entirely by ear, Wiegman blends cinematic soundtracks, pop and rock favorites, and original compositions. His music has earned millions of streams on Spotify and Apple Music, and his discography includes seven original albums and more than 100 singles.

Grayslake audiences may remember Wiegman from his own concert in the community in 2025. This November, join us for a special evening with LeAnn Rimes and cheer on a local musician as he accompanies her on cello.
