Since it’s the holidays, we’ll spare you from any doom and gloom news until next year. Instead, we’ve got some light-hearted, fun facts about the Land of Lincoln you can impress your family with on Christmas.
Some of these are really out there, for example, Illinois is home to seven smiley face water towers. Others might hit closer to home, like the Chicago-area suburb where the golden, cream-filled tube of artificial goodness known as the Twinkie was invented.
