Elgin Master Chorale Set to Hold Spring Auditions
If you love to sing and want to be part of a premier ensemble, join the Elgin Master Chorale for auditions on January 6th!

Has singing always been your passion? Did you previously sing with a choir and miss “the music”? Have you always been told you have a great voice? The Elgin Master Chorale wants YOU!
The Elgin Master Chorale, formerly the Elgin Choral Union, is currently in its 10th season under the leadership of Maestro Andrew Lewis. With its new name and identity, it is the area’s premier symphonic chorus, nearly 100 voices strong and a part of the community for more than 65 years.
Auditions will be held at Elgin Community College (1700 Spartan Dr. Room H104, Elgin, Ill.) on Tuesday, Jan. 6 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., and by appointment. Auditions are by appointment only. Call 847.214.7225 to reserve your spot.

Why join? The EMC has some great performances planned. Perform Something Wonderful: Rodgers & Hammerstein at Chicago’s Orchestra Hall in April. There will be a premiere performance in March at our home base, the Blizzard Theatre at Elgin Community College. Experience iconic songs from Rodgers & Hammerstein’s beloved musicals including South Pacific, Oklahoma!, The King and I, Sound of Music and more. This dynamic duo changed the face of musical theatre forever - and you’ve never heard their classics like this! In these concerts, the EMC will collaborate with the chorus and orchestra of the Chicago Bar Association to bring back all the joy, lyricism, and pure beauty of the songs that have us singing along more than 50 years later.
Accompany the Elgin Symphony Orchestra in Full Joy: Beethoven’s 9th, which is surely the pinnacle of any singer’s performance repertoire. This is set for May at the Hemmen’s Cultural Center.
