The Sun City Concert Band is currently rehearsing for its next concert, the 4th annual “Festival of Music”, which will be a combined concert with the Huntley High School Band. Please join us on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Huntley High School Performing Arts Center. The concert will feature a variety of all new music. This is the fourth year the two bands have combined in a special concert for the Huntley community. Last year’s concert was most successful and this year will be even better.
The event is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted at the door in benefit of the Huntley High School Band program. Last year donations totaled $1185 to which the Sun City Band added another$1000. The Sun City Band also presented it’s first ever scholarship to Casey Sukel, a Huntley High School band member, in the amount of $500. This year’s scholarship recipient will be announced at the March 3rd concert.
