Family-Owned Supermarket Offers Quality Products

has locations in Huntley, Woodstock and Marengo. The original Marengo location opened in 1960 by the Wisted family. The Woodstock location opened in 2004, and the Huntley followed, opening in 2006.

“We get to know our customers by name, and deal with them one-on-one,” Huntley Wisted’s Supermarket manager Jerry Doand said. “We have a more personal touch.”

Doand also said that the supermarket remains competitive with larger companies because they buy their products from Centrella Foods, a large wholesaler who distributes to over 450 stores.

“We have a large buying power,” Doand said. “It keeps us competitive- we are right there with everyone else.”

Wisted’s also has top-of-the-line produce. It keeps its products fresh, which ensures the customer the best value for their dollar.

“If the quality isn’t there, we don’t accept it,” Doand said.

Wisted’s also has butchers that cut fresh meat in any size that you may need.

“We have butchers on hand at all times, every day, seven days a week,” Doad said.

The supermarket also prides itself on it wide variety of products that it offers.

“There is quite a selection here,” Doand said. “We pride on that.”

is located in the Huntley Center plaza at 10442 N Il Route 47. The store is open seven days a week, and on all major holidays except Christmas, December 25.
