Great Pyr Mix Ready For Adoption!

She Would Like To Find Her Home By Saturday 2/28!

Safe Haven Dog Rescue brought Honey Dew into our rescue program because she needed help. She was abandoned by her family at the shelter leaving her lonely, confused, and very sad. Upon her vet check it was discovered that she was Heartworm Positive (HW+)! Without proper treatment, her future was very dim!

We brought her to Illinois and gave her the treatment she needed to make her healthy and have a bright future. Now she is ready to find just the right home to spend her FOREVER.

The Great Pyrenees breed is known to be gentle (especially with children), and affectionate. And its general demeanor is of composure and patience and loyalty.

Honey Dew is about 6 years old and is the sweetest most loving girl! Being a Great Pyr mix, she LOVES to be outside and now that she is “up North” she has discovered that playing and lying in the snow brings her great joy! She is very gentle, kind and good in the house. When she finds a room that she feels comfortable in, she will curl up and settle in. She does well in the car, walks great on her leash and is an all around “sweetheart”. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard so that she can enjoy the great outdoors like Great Pyrs love to do.

Honey Dew is not a fan of other dogs (most likely because of her past) and should be an “only child”...but with her size...who needs another dog! She has such devotion in her eyes....she is truly an exceptional girl.
